Music Today...
If you take a look at it, there has never been a better time in history to be an artist/band. No longer are you relying on a label to make or break you. You can control your own destiny. With the advent of social media and drive, you can make or break yourself. You can publish your own music, sell your own music and promote and set up your own shows. It reminds me of the oldschool days of Punk Rock. You didnt care about labels or ever being signed. Ya just went out and did it!
Well, today is no different. I encourage every band/artist to just go out, kill it, and own it!

Illegal Downloads
I was speaking to a buddy of mine. He told me he found this wicked new band and he can't stop listening to their album. He love's it! He then went on to tell me that he illegally downloaded the music. He actually bragged to me how he would never pay for music or give companies like iTunes a cent.
I then told him that most of the money goes to the artists. If you love the band so much, you should buy it so they can keep putting out albums.
He then went on to say, "Why should I pay for it?"
People love music and admit they can't live without it, yet, they refuse to pay for it.
Why is it that musicians aren't compensated for their labors?
Why is it that society doesn't look at it as a viable occupation?
If it was so easy to do what we do, then why don't they do it?
